Hi, I'm Tim Carter from askthebuilder.com. We're here at a job site today. We're getting
0:09
ready to pour a concrete slab. And I want to show you something before we actually get
0:14
started. You can actually probably hear and see the concrete truck ready to get going
0:18
here to pour the concrete. Let's talk a little bit quickly about the tools that we're going
0:23
to use to do the job. Check this out. So here are two concrete rakes. They're just regular
0:31
tools. They kind of look like a rake but they're kind of funny. They've got these solid fronts
0:35
on them and of course they've got these hooks right here. And these hooks are going to be
0:40
used to pull up, you know, the steel mesh. And of course right here the concrete workers
0:47
Right here, the concrete workers are going to use these magnesium floats along the edges
0:54
to also help place the concrete. And of course there the all bull float right here Very important the bull float You going to see how that used And here a really nice tool It a powered street And it jitters It going to vibrate And it going to smooth out the concrete And they going to kind of use it to pull the concrete and get it all in the same plane So it a nice smooth surface

So those are some of the tools that are going to be used here today on the job site when
1:29
you're getting ready to pour concrete. You're going to need many of these if not all of them. You might not get that big, nice, fancy powered screed
1:35
In the old days when I did it, we just used a nice straight 2x4 and they actually make
1:41
aluminum screeds that look just like a 2x4. They're nice and straight
1:46
Really nice tools. Make sure you have them when you get ready to pour your concrete slab
