DIY Shed AsktheBuilder Shed Foundation Layout
Aug 7, 2022
http://www.AsktheBuilder.com founder, Tim Carter, demonstrates how to layout a foundation for a DIY shed. The outer dimensions of this shed will be exactly 16 feet wide and 24 feet deep.
To square it up, all you need to do is check to make sure the diagonal measurements are the same when you place the simple wood outline made from 2 x 4s. Keep the legs of the 2x4s straight so the diagonal measurements are correct.
The diagonal measurement for square for a 16 x 24-foot rectangle is 28 feet 10 and 1/8th inches.
There are many ways to do it. The string method can be complicated, so Carter decided to show an easy way to create the outline for the shed and square it up.
