Easy Faucet Body Installation

Oh, that's interesting. Hi, how you doing? I'm getting ready to install this faucet and these

are the written instructions and you should always read the written instructions, but I've

read a lot of them in my career and it seems like many of them don't have a secret tip that I'm

going to tell you right now. Think about this. When should you install the faucet? Should it

be installed before the sink is down in the countertop or after the sink is in the countertop

You can do it both ways, but think about this. Here's the faucet body. Okay, so it goes up

like this. You have to install some plumber's putty. I'll do that later, but I just want

to show you real quickly. These trim pieces kind of hold it in place. And what you have

to do though, check this out. Come here and look under the underside here. You're going

to notice there's a nut right here, a big brass nut, and you have to tighten that nut

so that the faucet does not move. And when the sink is out, you can easily get a channel

lock pliers here and tighten that nut very easily. It's not a job at all. But think about

this Imagine if this sink was down in the countertop already How would you do it You You have to use a basin wrench like this It a neat tool but let me show you how hard it is You have to kind of get down on your knees then you have to kind of lay on your back You know it

not easy when you get older. And uh-oh, check this out. You've got your water

supply line sometimes in the way, not always. And think how hard this would be

You'd have to be down here, you don't have a lot of space to work in, the sink's in your

way and you're trying like the dickens to tighten that nut. It's crazy

So the tip is, when possible, install the faucet in the sink before you put the sink
