"I read your column in the Chicago Tribune. On Aug. 18, 2016, you wrote that "Sealing a blacktop driveway is unnecessary." I saved the article because I had a new asphalt driveway installed that summer. On Jan. 9, 2020, you wrote, "Be careful when asphalt sealing driveway." You made no mention of not needing to seal in the later article. So what is the prevailing mindset? Forget aesthetics. What is best for the 'health' and long life of my still unsealed driveway? There are no cracks in it. Thank you."

For example, do you see public roads get sealed? No.
